ACI has successfully delivered projects in the private, public, and commercial sectors across North Carolina. The company's success is primarliy due to landmark projects with UNC, NCSU, NCCU, ECSU, Wake County Public School Systems, and NC Court Houses. ACI Specializes in construction management, construction scheduling, cold rolled steel structural framing, precast concrete, insulated concrete forms, plaster, stucco, thermal systems, vapor barriors, and gypsum board assemblies. ACI's reputation is build on providing cost effective solutions, quality workmanship, and on time project completion. The company has much experience in installing diverse building technologies on a wide range of structures as well as the knowledge and opportunity to innovate and offer world class composite solutions for the construction industry.
ACI has assembled a passionate and experienced management team. ACI is led by Edward Rubio, President and inventor of the patented SmartWall product line. Mr. Rubio directs marketing, product technology, and research and development. Janeth Rubio serves as Vice President, Controller and governs the financial accounts. Edward J. Rubio is the companies director of marketing and investor relations. In addition Brian Moskow president of Red engineering and Design for projects conducted.
ACI complies with the NC Recovery Act and its purpose of stimulating North Carolina local economy by reducing energy consumption and creating green jobs. ACI’s unique construction process and technology facilitate the rapid construction of durable sustainable infrastructure. The ACI team looks forward to enhancing sustainable economic opportunities for North Carolina's green construction market by implementing our advanced building technologies.
ACI functions to exceed every expectation in continuing with our commitment to providing affordable sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and preservation of human health. With these three values ACI identifies as a “Triple Bottom Line” organization that is humanitarian, environmental, and for-profit. ACI strives to create innovative eco-conscious building systems that account for the full life cycle of the building. The initiative of ACI is to implement innovative building systems that are cost effective and environmentally conscious structures that insure structural security, reduces net energy consumption, net resource consumption, net pollution out-put, and improves the general quality of life.
Mr. Edward Rubio has been involved with construction and innovative design of building systems for the last 30 years. Mr. Rubio’s first innovative design mentor was a close friend, Mr. Joseph Starita, whom Mr. Rubio was acquainted with in the early 1980’s. Mr. Starita was one of the survivors with President John F. Kennedy when the Pt Boat 109 was sunk during WW II, and later went to become a leading Chemist at Union Carbide. Soon after, in the late 1950’s, Mr. Starita started a company based out of his home in New Jersey, called Star Glo Industries. Star Glo industries was successful in achieving a payroll of over 1,000 employees and was involved in making precision rubber and steel parts for many industries, including NASA aerospace engineering.
Mr. Starita was additionally involved with Canadian Insulock, which was the first company to design ICF (Insulated wall systems) patented wall systems. The product developed by Canadian Insulock was a wall system that was primarily composed of polyuhatane injected foam, concrete, and steel re-bar. However, the polyuhatane was later found to be more toxic than treated wood when exposed to an open flame. This early involvement with an innovative leader sparked Mr. Rubio to create his own design that is more efficient and more structurally sound than trademark wall systems used in the current market today. Through his experience in the light gauge steel and concrete construction industry, Mr. Rubio had the opportunity to invent a series of cost effective solutions and technologies on the projects preformed by ACI.
In early 2000, Mr. Rubio began to engineer his in-house products. As a result, the 2007 ACI Superwall US patent # 7, 278, 244 B1 composite wall system was awarded. Mr. Rubio continued to develop innovative designs , resulting in the issue of the March 23, 2010 ACI Smartwall US Patent No.US 7,681,368 B1 composite wall system. Currently Mr. Rubio has focused his efforts on maintaining the daily operations of ACI construction projects to help finance innovative patented technologies, like the ACI Superwall and Smartwall eco-conscious products and ongoing patent pending systems. These efforts have been made to accomplish the vision of innovative construction technologies that bring about a much-needed environmentally sustainable solution within the industry, and community that has been satisfied with older less efficient construction technologies.
ACI was founded on September 20, 1996 as a qualified small business S corporation by current president Mr. Edward Rubio. Mr. Rubio has 30 years of experience in the construction industry and had been awarded an eclectic variety of certifications, awards, and projects. Mrs. Janeth Rubio is the co-founder of the company functioning as Vice President and controller.
American Craftsmen Inc., (ACI) main mission is to exceed every expectation in continuing with our commitment to providing affordable sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and preservation of human health. Sustainable development as defined at the United Nations 1983 World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED) as “Development that meets the needs of people living today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” Sustainable development requires a long-term vision of industrial progress, preserving the foundations upon which quality of life depends on and respect for global ecosystems. Our Company strives to create innovative eco-conscious building systems that account for the full life cycle of the building.
ACI plans to utilize our innovative US patents to design sustainable buildings that are engineered and assembled to create affordable environmentally conscious structures that insure structural security, reduce energy consumption, and improves the general quality of life. The patented design of our engineered composite systems, ACI Superwall and Smartwall, utilize energy conservation technology to fulfill the need for innovative green solutions. Our composite wall systems are built to better withstand natural disasters by including superior fire ratings and structural engineering that exceeds all national and international building codes for seismic-wave loads and high wind-loads. ACI Superwall and Smartwall have more efficient operational performance due to the light weight properties of the wall systems insuring fast track construction. When completing a project using our innovative products major reductions in net energy consumption, resource consumption, pollution, and green house gas output will be achieved.
